As part of his tour around Italian universities and research institutes, on the 9th of May the Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, William D. Magwood IV, visited Frascati National Laboratories.

On the 6th of May the Honorable Prof. Lorenzo Fioramonti, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR), visited Frascati National Laboratories, particularly the Experimental Hall of DAFNE accelerator and its Control Room, and experienced the Visitor Centre dissemination tour.

The 2019 edition of the Giro d’Italia brings with it a plenty of initiatives in the spirit of Science and Technology. Frascati National Laboratories participates with a special open-day and a rich program of guided tours. Appointment on Friday 12th of April 2019 from 2.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the framework of the event “Scienza In Giro”.

From the 1st to the 5th of April Frascati National Laboratories will host the 9th edition of INSPYRE – International School on Modern Physics and Research – the international school in English language addressed to students in their last year of high school from all over the world.

On March 25 11:44 CET, 2019, electron-positron collisions have restarted at the SuperKEKB collider at the KEK laboratory in Tsukuba (Japan). The Belle II experiment has now kicked off its physics data taking with a fully equipped detector.

The new quadrupoles for the DAFNE collider interaction section are ready to be installed on the machine. These magnets will provide focusing the beams interacting in the vertical plane and are very important to enable e+e– colliders to reach high luminosities. 

For the first time LHCb measured the difference between matter and antimatter in D0 mesons, particles composed of a charm quark and an up antiquark. The difference in the behaviour of matter and antimatter, known as CP violation, is one of the key processes to understand why the Universe
