Marcello Conversi, a physicist from Tivoli, on the 100th anniversary of his birth

On Friday 8th of September 17.00 h, Auditorium of Convitto Nazionale “Amedeo di Savoia duca di Aosta” – Tivoli

On the 100th anniversary of the birth of the physicist Marcello Conversi, the Rotary Club of Tivoli, under the patronage of the municipality, will offer the chance to watch “I ragazzi di via Giulia”, a documentary dedicated to the Conversi-Pancini-Piccioni experiment.

Besides his research about muons, Conversi also made a valuable contribution to the design of the National Laboratory of Gran Sasso and to the realization of some experiments aimed at studying the multi-hadronic production with the e+ e- collider Adone, progenitor of Dafne, the present accelerator at National Laboratory of Frascati.

Professors Giovanni Battimelli (Sapienza University of Rome) and Elisabetta Pallante (Groninga University) will acknowledge his contribution to the post-war physics.

The family of the eminent citizen and Alfredo Conti, the documentary’s director, will attend the event too.
