From the 12th to the 16th of March 2018, the LNF will host the 14th edition of IPPOG – International Particle Physics Masterclass, addressed to students in their last year of high school.
The 40 participants, from all over Italy, will attend lectures on the Standard Model, the detectors used in high energy particle physics and particle accelerators.
Besides the lessons, the students will visit the Laboratories, attend a coding training devoted to the study of gravity (realized by CodemotionKids https://codemotionkids.com/) and, finally, analyze data from the LHCb experiment currently taking data at the LHC particle accelerator of CERN.
On the last afternoon, as in an international research collaboration, the students will connect via videoconference with their colleagues from Barcelona, Heidelberg, Paris and St. Petersburg to discuss and compare the results obtained by the data analysis on the LHCb experiment.
