We study special quantum field theories with additional spacetime symmetries, namely conformal symmetry and extended supersymmetry. After inserting an extended probe, represented by a Wilson loop,  we study the residual symmetry pattern and we compute correlation functions of local operators in presence of the Wilson loop.
