The recent advances of pump-and-probe experiments with femtosecond time resolution allow speculations on the possible dynamics at the subfemtosecond level. Starting from an old idea of Corinaldesi, we discuss the conditions that should be fulfilled to detect a subfemtosecond violation of the Paui principle.
