At its sitting of the 14th of January, the INFN Executive Board adopted the Ministerial Decree with which Dr. Pierluigi Campana is appointed MIUR vigilant member of the Executive Board.
Contextually, Dr. Campana resigned as Director of Frascati National Laboratories (LNF) and was delegated to perform juridic acts of ordinary administration concerning LNF until the appointment of his successor.
Pierluigi Campana is engaged in high energy experimental physics, featuring a long experience in particle detectors. His research activity started at INFN Frascati National Laboratories, working on the proton decay in the NUSEX experiment, carrying on with the MACRO apparatus at Gran Sasso National Laboratories.
Later he participated to the ALEPH experiment at the CERN accelerator LEP and, subsequently, to the KLOE experiment at DAFNE of LNF. Since 2002 he has been part of the LHCb collaboration at the LHC of CERN, of which he was spokesperson over 2011-2014. In 2015 he was elected Director of Frascati National Laboratories, a role he played until the new appointment.
The Frascati National Laboratories staff wishes Dr. Campana a good job for the new prestigious position.
