DESCRIPTION:We discuss properties of the supercurrent in the superconformal formulation of N=1\,4D supergravity. Superconformal matter gives simplified conservation laws as in the case of the CCJ improved energy momentum tensor. This approach is useful to classify curved superspace backgrounds.
