A delegation of Chinese scientists of Sun Yat-Sen University, on November 18th visited Frascati National Laboratories. Sun Yat-Sen University, that has a century-old tradition, is becoming an academic and research pole and an excellence cultural center in the panorama of south China.With five campuses in three cities (Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Shenzhen) and ten affiliated hospitals, the University is conquering year after year a higher international ranking.
In the field of fundamental physics, Sun Yat-Sen University is gaining an important role thanks to its geographical location that sees it at close distance from Jiangmen, where it is under construction a new large underground laboratory for neutrino’s study.
The Chinese delegation, led by the deputy-president of the University prof. Dongbai Sun, is interested in establishing contacts with LNF, especially for accelerator physics aspects, a field in which Frascati Laboratories have an undoubtful international expertise. During the day spent at LNF, the respective scientific programs have been discussed and the possibility to establish contacts and exchange programs has been addressed, above all for the training of new generations of scientists.
