On Saturday 26th of May 2018
INFN – Frascati National Laboratories
Free entry from 10,00 am to 8,00 pm to every scheduled event
Frascati National Laboratories are getting ready for a new edition of OpenLabs.
Write down on your agenda – on Saturday 26th of May 2018 form 10,00 am to 8,00 pm – a date to live a whole day devoted to Science: the Laboratories will open their doors to everyone who is fond of physics and not only that. A unique initiative to discover the ongoing experiments at the LNF and the equipment used in the world of research.
The program includes conferences about accelerators, Higgs boson, black holes, screening of successful docu-films, MakerLab with interactive demonstrations about detectors, nanotechnologies and a special laboratory for the building of a DIY Cloud Chamber.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to see in advance the LNF Visitor Centre, a new area dedicated to scientific dissemination and the history of particle accelerators that will be inaugurated in this occasion. Through interactive installations, videos and parts of detectors, the big issues of modern and contemporary physics will be narrated.
Moreover, only at OpenLabs it is possible to visit DAFNE, the LNF particle accelerator!
In light of the success of the last year edition, it will be proposed another scientific Speed-date, in which the public will have the chance to satisfy their curiosities about physics, talking directly to INFN researchers.
For kids and young adults, there is a wide program of show-lessons, tales about science and educational labs. Lastly – in the collaboration with Codemotion Kids! – coding activities will be organized to teach them – through play – how to construct using technology.
It has been arranged a non-stop tasting area. You can have lunch at the Laboratories’ canteen. Visitors are allowed to use the free parking next to Tor Vergata train station, in via della Perazzeta, about 50 mt from the LNF entrance.
The detailed schedule will be available soon on our website.
We’ll be waiting for you! SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT
