International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2020

Again this year, Frascati National Laboratory (LNF) adhere to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, established in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly with the purpose of promoting equal access to STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), as well as emphasizing the value of women in the world of scientific research.

For the occasion, today, 11th of February 2020, an event addressed to students in their 4th or 5th year of high school will be held at LNF, devoted to the theme of women in science. Seven speakers, coming from different fields – such as particle physics and engineering – are invited to exchange experiences, including their choice of study course and the career undertaken successively, with particular reference to the activity carried out at INFN Frascati National Laboratory.
A valuable opportunity for discussion, but also orientation, in which young wannabe scientists will have the chance to ask questions directly to those who live in first person this timeless issue.

The event will be live-streamed.
